Bugs Bunny Studio Model Drawing by Rev Chaney (Warner Brothers, 1940's). It can be said the Bugs Bunny was at his peak in the 1940s with a cast of young directors such as Bob Clampett, Friz Freleng, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones Robert McKimson and Frank Tashlin. These were the war years and the studio was churning out incredible amounts of animated shorts both for theatrical release and instructional films to aid the war effort. This is a massive hand-drawn image of Bugs Bunny for a studio character model by animator Rev Chaney, who worked at Warner Studios at this time. It's a remarkable pose of Bugs complete with carrot that stands 17" tall on a 9.5" x 19" sheet of 3-peghole pan animation paper turned vertically. This drawing was likely used for either a promotional piece or consumer products and is even more likely to be the only one of its kind. The 70-year-old drawing has been rolled, exhibits creases, edge wear, toning, and a few small rust stains from a paperclip. Overall condition is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
