    Ben and Me Ben Franklin Concept Painting (Walt Disney, 1953). "It was shortly thereafter, that Ben took up kite flying" says Amos Mouse in this two-reel short that featured Benjamin Franklin. Here is an original concept/story painting of Ben Franklin flying his kite with the key. This short was directed by Ham Luske and was released on 11/10/53. Art direction was handled by Ken Anderson and Claude Coats, with backgrounds by the team of Al Dempster, Dick Anthony, and Thelma Witmer. The story was adapted to the screen by Bill Pete. The cartoon was narrated by the great Sterling Holloway, and received an Academy Award nomination! This kite-flying scene comes into the story around the 12:36 mark. Art is in gouache on board measuring 12" x 9.5", with a painted area measuring approximately 8" x 6". This great story/concept art painting is in a mat with a size of 14" x 12". Art condition is Very Good.
