Bedknobs and Broomsticks Concept Art by Peter Ellenshaw Acrylic on Board (Walt Disney, 1971). An extraordinary piece of concept art from Walt Disney's beloved motion picture, Bedknobs and Broomsticks. In this classic Disney story an apprentice witch, three kids and a cynical magician conman search for the missing component to a magic spell to be used in the defense of Britain in World War II. This RARE piece is from the hand of OSCAR®-winning visual effects artist, Peter Ellenshaw (1913 - 2007). Ellenshaw has over 50 films to his credit including Treasure Island, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and Mary Poppins. In 1993 he was inducted into Disney's hall of fame program as an official Disney Legend. This gorgeous Ellenshaw painting depicts the English House by the White Cliffs, rendered in acrylic on 20" x 12" board. You can see this painting the fantastic book, "Ellenshaw Under Glass" on page 257. Framed to 24" x 15.5" and hand-signed by the artist. We've seen animation cels from Bedknobs and Broomsticks but concept art from the live-action segments is considered extremely rare. The painting is in Very Good condition. All frames are sold as-is.
