Description
Beauty and the Beast Early Gaston Character Development Drawing by Disney Legend Andreas Deja (Walt Disney, 1991). "No one plots like Gaston." "Takes cheap shots like Gaston." "Plans to persecute harmless crackpots like Gaston!" My, what a guy! Gaston has decided to change up his look and is making an appearance with a mustache and his trusty arrows. The early 16 field graphite with color pencil character development drawing was created by Gaston's supervising animator Disney Legend Andreas Deja during the character design stage for the character. Gaston was different than previous Disney villains and was a monster hiding plain sight, which contrasted the sweet heart hiding under the Beast's frightening appearance. To push that idea further, the team made the character attractive and popular with the townsfolk. This 10'' x 9.5'' design still has his mustache that makes him look a bit more like a cartoon villain, which was removed later in the process. There's also an additional rougher sketch at the right edge of the page as a bonus! Good to Very Good condition with light handling wear, pinholes, edge tears at the bottom corners, and faint creasing.From the Disney Legend Inductee Andreas Deja Collection.
