Beauty and the Beast Concept Painting Original Art by Bob Stanton (Walt Disney, 1991). The Beast casts a long shadow in his lonely room, with moonlight shining on the enchanted rose that keeps him in his current state, in this magnificent concept painting by Los Angeles-based artist Bob Stanton. Mr. Stanton started with Disney in 1988, and he has worked on films like Lilo and Stitch, Mulan, and the Roger Rabbit short, Rollercoaster Rabbit. This huge painting appears to have been done for the 1994 Disney musical Broadway production, as the scene is set on a stage, with audience heads bathed in blue light below, It's possible uses may have been for posters and other publicity items as well. It's a remarkable painting, done in gouache on board. The art is signed in the lower right, and matted with an opening of 30" x 20", and an overall mat size of 35.75" x 26". The mat shows some edge wear, and the art has minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
