Bambi Thumper Concept Drawing Original Art by Marc Davis (Walt Disney, 1942). In the book by Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas, Bambi: The Story and the Film, they write on page 124/125, "The direction changed, however with the arrival of Marc Fraser Davis. He had maintained a keen interest in drawing animals. In San Francisco he had studied art in the mornings, and then taken the trolley out to the Fleishhacker Zoo to draw real animals. He spent more hours at the library studying comparative animal anatomy. Through Marc's work, even skeptics saw the possibility of a picture with deer as sympathetic main characters." This is an outstanding concept drawing of Thumper being twitterpaited at the arrival and kiss from a young female bunny. Art is in graphite and charcoal, with an image size of 8". Marc Davis' concept drawings of the forest animals are what made this film happen, and this is a magnificent study of Bambi's pal Thumper. Artwork is matted with an opening of 11" x 9", and framed using Plexiglas for an overall size of 19" x 17". Stunning artwork by Marc Davis of one of the more memorable scenes in this entire film! Frame is sold as-is; artwork has minor handling wear. Very Good condition.
