    Description

Bambi Test Cel (Walt Disney, 1942). This is a very rare test cel from the 1942 Walt Disney Studio feature production of Bambi. The images of two deer, which measure approximately 11" and 7", were rendered in graphite on paper then carefully trimmed and applied to a 16 field cel. Streaks of white paint were then added to the cel to create movement. Cels like this were filmed early in production to test movement, backgrounds and serve as a roughly animated version of the storyboard. Once used, they were routinely thrown away, making this one very rare. Condition is Very Good. From the Cecil Beard Archives.
