Bambi Faline Signed Concept/Layout Drawing by Clair Weeks (Walt Disney, 1942). Clair Weeks was a story man and animator for the Walt Disney Studios from 1936 through 1956, with a break during his World War II enrollment. After his time at Disney he would help to train animators in India through the FDI (Films Division of India) and became one of the father figures for Indian animation with many of his students going on to shape the animation industry in the country. Mr. Weeks worked on the Bambi story at the Steward Studio initially, away from the Hyperion Studio. This is an outstanding Clair Weeks original layout/character development drawing of Bambi's friend and mate Faline in graphite and charcoal of on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. It's a beautiful image, with a size of 7". The drawing is hand-signed by the artist and dated 1940. Artwork condition is Good with handling and edge wear plus a small light stain in the lower right corner and mild age-related paper toning.
