Bambi Concept/Storyboard Drawings Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1942). Bambi was directed by David Hand, and released on August 13, 1942. This a pair of concept/storyboard drawings done for this film. The first piece is a stunning storyboard of Bambi with antlers, not looking too happy. Detailed graphite with blue highlights on 5" x 6" paper, numbered 43. The second piece was originally sold in the Courvoisier art program; it has a Disney stamp in the lower margin. This is concept piece of Bambi and Deer in the forest. It is a layout on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper, cut in half. The framing residue on top seems to indicate it was split at the time of original sale in the 1940s. Artwork is detailed graphite with white gouache. Art area is approximately 7" x 4". Both pieces demonstrate the art focus of this film. Minor handling, pinholes, tape residue on border. Overall Very Good condition.
