DescriptionBambi Concept/Color Key Painting (Walt Disney, 1942). Presented is an outstanding original concept painting created for the color and styling of the 1942 Disney animated feature film Bambi. Bambi walks among the trees of the forest in this remarkable mini masterpiece measuring 5.5" x 4". The incredible detail for such a small piece, complementary soft washes of orange and blue, and the prioritizing of the atmosphere in which the figure occupies likely makes this an image by the hand of background artist and Disney Legend Inductee Tyrus Wong (1910-2016). Rendered expertly in wet washes of watercolor on watercolor paper, this stunning piece shows little handling and edge wear with some mild evidence of tape on the back. There is a protective sheet of acetate taped over the piece, and the overall condition is Very Good.
