    Description

Bambi Animal Study Concept Art by Retta Scott Group of 2 (Walt Disney, 1942). Retta Scott had a passion for animals, spending much of her free time sketching at the Griffith Park Zoo. She went to work for Disney Studios in the Story Department in 1938, where she began working on storyboards for Bambi. These are some of her first sketches for the film, of Bambi's mother Faline, and of a pack of "vicious, snarling" hunting dogs. These are sharp, detailed drawings in graphite, on paper measuring 11" x 13.25". Faline has an image size of 8", while the pack of dogs has a combined image size of 7.5" x 10.5". Rare and historic drawings from the first female artist to receive screen credit in a Disney film. Slight handling and edge wear; Very Good condition. From the Retta Scott Archives.
