    Description

Baby Head Sketch Concept Art (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). Animator and producer Ray Patterson (1911 - 2001) had a long career in animation, including stints at Columbia, Walt Disney (Fantasia, Dumbo, and others), MGM (Tom and Jerry shorts), Grantray-Lawrence Animation (Spider-Man) and Hanna-Barbera. Here's a sketch from Mr. Patterson's personal archives of a smiling baby, drawn in graphite on a sheet of 12 field animation paper. We can't say for certain, but the child bears more than a passing resemblance to Baby Weems (The Reluctant Dragon, 1941). The image size is 5.5" tall. Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear.

    More Information:

NOTE: It's come to our attention that this was a preliminary sketch of the Cupid characters in Fantasia.
