Atlantis: The Lost Empire Concept Art and Milo Thatch Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 2001). Here is a fantastic piece of concept art from the Walt Disney animated film, Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Included in this lot is a superb production drawing of Milo Thatch. This clean-up drawing was rendered in graphite on 12 field animation paper, noted as M49 in the lower right. The piece also contains the animator's timing sheet notations in the upper right. The concept art featuring the ruined Atlantean city is attributed to the hand of Mike Mignola. He is known for his work on the Hellboy comics and movies; Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008), Hellboy (2019) and Hellboy (2004). The term "concept art" was used by the Walt Disney Animation Studios as early as the 1930s. This concept piece measures 13.5" x 8" and has a Disney stamp in the lower right. Overall condition is Very Good.
