"Mistress Masham's Repose" Concept Art and Memo Group (Walt Disney, 1984). Joe Hale pitched this book idea for a feature film to Roy Disney. The 1946 book was by T.H. White, the same author as The Sword in the Stone. The book was about a little girl who finds Lilliputians in Northamptonshire, England right after World War II. It was said Roy Disney was enthusiastic about this project, but Michael Eisner was not. Joe Hale had Andreas Deja do preliminary pitch/concept artwork for this film project. This is a pair of detailed concept/pitch illustrations for this proposed project; we've now learned these were in fact by Roy Morita, rather than Andreas Deja as we reported earlier. Also in this lot is the memo from Joe Hale to Roy Disney dated October 29, 1984, talking about budget numbers and some budget-cutting ideas. The memo also mentions the Beauty and the Beast story. Interesting to note that this 1991 film was mentioned in 1984! The artwork includes a stunning ink and watercolor study of a man in an old car with golf clubs and roses, drawn on paper measuring 18.5" x 13.5" and mounted to board. There are pinholes in corners with some surface wear and handling wear. Also in this group is a massive pen and ink Northamptonshire Castle and surrounding area study. This huge piece of artwork measures 40" x 12.5"; it's folded down the center. This is a historical group that shows the early division between Mr. Eisner and Roy Disney. Minor handling wear, with staining and edge wear. In Good condition.

More Information: EDIT: Art attribution changed from Andreas Deja to Roy Morita
