Who Framed Roger Rabbit Color Model Cels Group of 7 (Walt Disney/Touchstone/Amblin, 1988).
Set in 1947 Hollywood, cartoon characters are known as Toons and most, if not all, toons are paid as actors there. They live in an animated community of Toontown, which is owned by businessman Marvin Acme. Perhaps one of the most famous stars there is Roger Rabbit. Charles Fleischer provides the voices of Roger Rabbit and Benny the Cab. This is a group of seven color model cels used for ink and paint reference. The first cel features the film's protagonist, Roger Rabbit. The other six cels feature Benny the Cab. Each color model cel is hand-inked and hand-painted on 16 field acetate. These are very rare art pieces from the collection of Paul Wenzel. Wenzel was Disney Consumer Products first Art Director of their creative publishing team, and in 1985, Paul was made Creative Director of Character Art. In 2000 Paul retired from Disney after 42 years. This would be a nice acquisition for any astute animation collector. The artwork is in Very Good condition.
