The Whoopee Party Animation Drawing and Color Model Drawings (Walt Disney, 1932). The Whoopee Party, released on 9/17/32, was a Mickey Mouse cartoon short produced by Walt Disney himself and directed by Wilfred Jackson. In the cartoon, Mickey and the gang are throwing a party for all of their friends. Minnie and Clarabelle perform a song while Mickey, Horace, and Goofy (known at this time as Dippy Dawg) are in the kitchen preparing some refreshments. Once the refreshments are finished and distributed, an energetic jam session breaks out that causes the guests and even inanimate objects to dance to the music. In this lot we have an animation drawing and two color model drawings showing the Whoopee Party crowd. The three pieces are floated in one Plexiglas-front frame measuring 38" x 11". Frame sold as-is. The color model drawings have the animators color callout notations. The artwork was rendered in graphite with colored pencil on 12 field, 2-peghole animation paper. This artwork is 90 years old and would be a wonderful acquisition for any discerning collector. The model sheets have age-related toning and normal edge wear. Otherwise, Good condition.
