Description

The Prince and the Pauper Mickey Mouse Color Model/Color Test Cels Group of 2 and Model Sheet Drawing (Walt Disney, 1990). Here's a rare one - 19 Mickeys! These are two color model cels and an original model sheet featuring Mickey Mouse from the theatrical short The Prince and the Pauper. In visual arts, a color model is an animation cel made to ensure correct coloration. Also known as a color test, the cel or sheet is used by other artists as well as Ink and Paint as a reference tool to help maintain continuity. Color models determine the paint colors for the characters in various lighting and situations they encounter in the film. The first cel depicts Mickey (as the Pauper) in shadow colors. The second piece is a model sheet/study created with graphite, which depicts our hero (as the Prince) in several poses and positions. The last piece in this lot is also a color model/test cel with seven Mickeys but only one is painted in his day colors. Major studio model sheets like these are highly prized by collectors and rarely come to market. The two cels are both hand-painted on 16 field acetate. The graphite drawing is on 16 field animation paper. Edge wear with a tear on the top border of the third piece. Overall Good to Very Good condition.
