    Description

The Bullwinkle Show Rocky Color Model Cel (Jay Ward, 1961). While all the hand-painted production cels for this show were done in Mexico, many of the sponsor segments cels for General Mills and other sponsors were done in the US. The first TV series Rocky and His Friends premiered in 1959. It was renamed The Bullwinkle Show and the first episode ran on 9/24/61. This is a rare studio publicity/color model cel of Rocky for the new Bullwinkle Show, dated 3/9/61 on the back. This cel was most likely done for Mexico ink and paint reference as well as for studio publicity and consumer products use. It is a great full-figure 5" image of Rocket J. Squirrel on a yellow paper background with tape around border. Any and all artwork for Jay Ward Studios of this era is considered rare and highly desirable. Good condition.
