Description
RoboCop Alex Murphy/Cyborg Cop Color Model Cel (Marvel, 1988). Here's a rare color model cel for cyborg cop, Alex Murphy from the animated series RoboCop. Based on the original movie, the series features RoboCop, Alex Murphy as he fights to save the city of Old Detroit from assorted rogue elements, and on occasion, fighting to reclaim aspects of his humanity and maintain his usefulness in the eyes of the "Old Man", Chairman of Omni Consumer Products. In visual arts, a color model is a studio document used to help standardize the appearance of a character with respect to color of the character, props or environment. The document is used by other artists as well as ink and paint as a reference tool to help maintain continuity. The color model is hand-painted on 12 field acetate and matted to 14" x 18" with an aperture of 11" x 7.5". The cel is noted with color callouts for RoboCop's armor. It's a great image with Murphy standing full-body at 9.5". Condition is Very Good.Auction Info
