Description

Mickey's Fire Brigade Mickey Mouse Color Model Drawing (Walt Disney, 1935). Fire chief Mickey gets all tangled up in his work when a fire breaks out in a hotel, in this outstanding 12 field 5-peghole color model drawing. The short was directed by Ben Sharpsteen, and released to theaters on 8/2/1935. Animators on this cartoon, which co-starred Donald Duck, Goofy, and Clarabelle Cow (as the one in need of rescue from an upper-story window), included Grim Natwick and Bill Tytla. This colorful drawing is in graphite with great green, orange, yellow, blue, purple, and tan pencil highlights. The overall image area, including the wrench Mickey is reaching for, measures approximately 6.5" x 3.5". Surrounding the drawing are animator's notes and color call-outs; the number in the lower right corner is 1. One peghole has been reinforced, while another has had a reinforcement removed. Minor handling wear with mild paper toning. Very Good condition.
