Jungle Jitters Native with Ring in Nose Color Model (Warner Brothers, 1938). This Merrie Melodies short directed by Friz Freleng and released on 2/19/38 is from the notorious "Censored Eleven" cartoons that were banned from television in 1968, due to offensive portrayals of natives. Here is a rare original 12 field 2-peghole color model drawing of the stereotype native who stands next to a make-shift merry-go-round, with the riders reaching for his nose ring. When one finally manages to grab it, the native's head gets pulled as the rings around his neck turn out to be a spring! This sequence begins at the 1:21 mark in online viewings. The art is in graphite and color marker, with a figure size of 6.25". Fine condition, with very minor handling wear.
