Hair Ribbin'/When Herr Meets Hare Bugs Bunny Color Model Cel with Studio Production Background (Warner Brothers, 1944). Bugs serves himself up in a big sandwich at the end of this Bob Clampett-directed short. This is an original hand-inked, hand-painted color model cel from this scene. This magnificent image didn't make it into the final film but it is from the production and easily one of the nicest and largest Bugs cels we have ever offered. The full-body Bugs measures a whopping 9.5" x 6.5" on a 12 field cel that is numbered 19 in the lower right corner. It is presented over an original hand-painted pan production background from the 1945 Friz Freleng-directed short Herr Meets Hare. The massive 53" x 10" background is painted in gouache and marked Sc 15 MM7-13 on the back and border. The cel and background work wonderfully together and make a truly rare and magnificent vintage Warner Brothers setup. The 75-year-old cel has some paint separation and cracks, and the background has been rolled. Condition for the lot is Very Good. From the Rev Chaney Archives.
