Gustaf Tenggren (attributed) Pinocchio Horse Marionette Model Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). Gustaf Tenggren (1896 - 1970) did monumental work at Walt Disney Studios from 1936 to 1942. He was a Swedish-American illustrator best known for his Arthur Rackham-style fairy tale artwork. He had a large influence on the making of both Snow White and Pinocchio. This piece is an original model drawing of a proposed horse Marionette for Geppetto's workshop, attributed to the hand of Mr. Tenggren. It has a great image size of 7" x 6" on 12 field 5-hole animation paper. The artwork is hand-stamped "Return to Character Model Department." This would have been the department set up by Joe Grant. Tenggren's Disney artwork is considered rare and highly collectible. Matted with an opening size of 10" x 9" with an overall mat size of 14" x 12". Minor handling and edge wear. Very Good condition.
