Fantasia Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice Classic Pose Color Model Drawing (Walt Disney, 1940). This may be a sort of holy grail of Mickey Mouse art: the famous widely-used Mickey Mouse Fantasia/Sorcerer's Apprentice publicity pose used to market Mickey Mouse in this film. This standard Fantasia pose incorporated Fred Moore's newly-designed Mickey Mouse with pupils. A similar image was seen in on the cover of John Culhane's 1983 book Walt Disney's Fantasia. It was seen in the Encyclopedia of Disney Characters book on page 173. It has been seen in countless studio publicity pieces, other books, posters, you name it. This is an amazing graphite drawing with detailed red, blue and yellow pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. Mickey is a nice full-figure image of 6". The drawing is studio stamped "Model Drwg" and has MD - 28 written in the bottom right corner. This is one important piece of Mickey Mouse artwork! Minor handling and edge wear. In Very Good condition.
