Description

Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas Grinch and Max Color Model/Test Cels (MGM, 1966). "I must find some way to keep Christmas from coming!" Here's a superb pair of early color model/test cels depicting the Grinch and his dog, Max. In visual arts, a color model is an animation cel made to ensure correct coloration. Also known as a color test, the cel or sheet is used by other artist as well as ink and paint as a reference tool to help maintain continuity. Color models determine the paint colors for the characters in various lighting and situations they encounter in the film. These are great color test cels with nice large images - hand-painted on 12 field acetate and placed over a background copy/print. The Grinch stands full-body at almost 10" with Max measuring 7" x 8". The Grinch cel is noted in the border as "7755 Color Test C-2". Mild edge wear. Condition is Very Good.
