Cinderella Lucifer the Cat Color Model Sheet (Walt Disney, 1950),
In Cinderella, Lucifer was largely created for comic relief. Disney Legend Inductee and one of "Walt's Nine Old Men", Ward Kimball, imagined and was responsible for the comedic subplot of the cat-and-mouse chase scenes between Lucifer and Jaq and Gus. His design was largely inspired by a pet cat belonging to Kimball himself. In this lot we have a fantastic color model sheet for Lucifer. The image of Lucifer measures 7.5" x 5". Included on the piece are two studio stamps; one stamp indicates, "Color Model Sheet Return to Color Department", the other stamp indicates the production number, scene and sequence. Hand-written on the sheet is "Lucifer Stand". The artwork is rendered in graphite with red pencil on 12 field, 3-peghole animation paper. Color model sheets are considered very rare and highly sought after by astute collectors of animation art. Mild age-related paper toning, pin holes in the top left corner, normal edge wear, Otherwise, Very Good condition.
