    Description

Bath Day Minnie Mouse Color Model Cel (Walt Disney, 1946). "Figaro... where have you been? You're all dirty!" says Minnie Mouse to poor Figaro -- even cartoon cats HATE baths! This is a rare hand-inked, hand-painted Color Model cel of Minnie Mouse. She co-starred in this Charles Nichols-directed Figaro cartoon, released on 10/11/46. You can see this exact image at about 6:15 into the short. This is a color model with Minnie wearing a green dress; she wears a pink dress in the short. The bottom border has inked 2333 Sc. 68 Level 1. Please Note: the cel is on a print background that has an image of Figaro taken from Pinocchio. The cel has been restored to Fine condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.
