Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs Animation Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1943). Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarfs was an all-black parody of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Snow White. The stylistic portrayal of the characters is an example of "darky" iconography, which was unfortunately widely accepted in American society at the time. As such, it is one of the most controversial cartoons in the classic Warner Brothers library, being one of the "Censored Eleven." The cartoon is rightfully never seen on television in its entirety, and has never been officially released on home video. The drawing was rendered in graphite and red pencil on 12 field, 2-peghole animation paper. Age-related toning, superficial wrinkling, and edge wear. Condition is Good.
