City Slickers Cowboy Opening Titles Production Cel and Animation Drawing (Kurtz, 1991). Gorgeous title sequence animation cel from the opening of the 1991 smash hit comedy, City Slickers. The film starred Billy Crystal and Jack Palance; Palance won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his performance. The opening title sequence was humorously animated by famous indie animation studio, Kurtz & Friends. A diminutive (and very inexperienced) cowboy slogs his way through the opening title sequence, attempting fancy rope tricks with his lasso. Beautifully hand-inked (with varying colors of inked outlines) and hand-painted, he sports the full cowboy getup - including a ten gallon hat and wooly chaps! The cowboy measures 5" x 3". A matching 12 Field animation drawing is included, with the image in graphite and small notation in blue pencil, which points out the small dust effect at near the cowboy's boots. Both the cel and the drawing have been signed by award-winning animator/director Bob Kurtz. Drawing and cel are both in Fine condition.
