City Slickers 2 "Pregnant Cow" Animated Title Sequence Production Cel and Animation Drawing (Kurtz, 1994). Fantastic hand-inked, and hand-painted production cel from the opening title sequence of City Slickers 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold. This image captures a hilarious moment in the film, which must have drawn big laughs from the crowd. Our hero (the clueless little cowboy) is attending to a cow who has just gone into labor! He pokes and prods and finally helps her to deliver - not a calf - but the film's title lettering! The inking is done in blue ink, rather than the traditional black, which makes the brightly-painted characters really "pop" from the frame against the dark background over which they have been placed. Image area measures 5" x 6". Included is an original animation drawing rendered in graphite. There are some notations near the bottom of the drawing in colored pencil, which offer a fascinating peek into the behind-the-scenes process of producing animation. Drawing has minor creasing, handling, and edge wear. The acme peg hole at the bottom left of the 12 field paper is torn; image unaffected. Both the cel and the animation drawing are signed by award-winning animator/ director Bob Kurtz. Both cel and drawing are in Fine condition.
