    City Beneath Original Concept Art by Peter Ellenshaw (Walt Disney, c. 1980s). This is a superb concept painting by the legendary matte painter, and production designer, Peter Ellenshaw (1913 – 2007). The concept art was from a planned (but never produced) feature film from Walt Disney titled, City Beneath. The picture was to tell the story of a city of elves living below San Francisco who are responsible for maintaining the city's world-famous Cable Cars. The Disney Legend's artistic career spanned more than seven decades, working with many acclaimed filmmakers and directors like Walt Disney and Stanley Kubrick and picking up an Oscar along the way! Ellenshaw was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences with over 50 films to his credit. His dramatic painting was rendered on 20" x 8" board. The piece is framed to 26" x 13.5" and hand-signed by the artist. Frame sold as-is. Fine condition.
