Chuck Jones - The Grinch and Max Painting Original Art (c. 1980s-90s). What's Up Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones is now in its second year of a 6-year Smithsonian/Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science tour, currently on exhibit at the Minnesota History Center through August, 2016. Here's a piece that would be right at home at the exhibit. It's a simply stunning original and unique watercolor painting of the Grinch and Max, in a classic face-to-face pose, from the hand of Mr. Chuck Jones (1912 - 2002). Original watercolor paintings are highly coveted by Jones fans, but his Grinch watercolors are few and far between. This is a great one, painted on Somerset Rag deckled edge acid-free paper, with wonderful 10" images. The piece is free floating within a mat with an opening of 13" x 12", framed with Plexiglas in a gold-painted wooden frame which includes a Linda Jones COA on the reverse side. This is the first Chuck Jones Grinch watercolor ever offered by Heritage. Fine condition. From the Chuck Jones Archives.
