Chuck Jones – "Elmer Meets Egghead" Sketch Original Art (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). The evolution of Elmer Fudd can be traced back to one of Tex Avery's creations, Egghead. This odd little guy with Joe Penner mannerisms appeared in twelve shorts from 1937 to 1939 (and if you don't know Joe Penner, look him up -- he was a hugely popular radio star back in the 1930s). His design eventually morphed into Elmer; in fact, some publicity images of Egghead actually named him Elmer Fudd. But in the cartoon world, it's been established that Egghead and Elmer are separate characters, so this great Chuck Jones (1012 – 2002) original drawing of Elmer calling Egghead "Daddy" is entirely appropriate! This is true cartoon history! The art is in ink over light graphite, with figure sizes of 5.5" and 6". The art is matted with an opening of 12" x 9.5", with a metal plaque that identifies this as "Original Art as featured in Chuck Jones Goes to the Museum." This signifies the art as part of a traveling exhibit of Chuck Jones original artwork. The art is framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 18.5" x 18.5" x 1". Frame is sold as-is. A Linda Jones Letter of Authenticity is on back of the frame. Art condition is Very Good.
