Chip 'n' Dale Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, c. 1940s). Chip and Dale made their first appearance as nameless chipmunks in a Pluto wartime short, Private Pluto in 1943. They then appeared with Mickey Mouse in the 1946 short Squatters Rights. They finally received their names when they starred for the first of many times with Donald Duck in the 1947 short Chip an' Dale. Dale went under a re-design for this film and was given buck teeth. This is a rare early hand-inked, hand-painted Courvoisier production cel of Chip and Dale. This is from their first early 1940s appearances with their original design, before Chip was depicted with a red nose. This is the earliest Chip and Dale production cel we have ever seen! Nice full-figure trimmed images, with sizes of 3" and 4" on a Courvoisier airbrushed wood veneer background. The setup is in its original 12" x 11" cream-colored mat with script writing and WDP stamp. A studio COA is on the back. Very rare! Setup is in Very Good condition.
