    Description

Cats and Bruises Sylvester Layout Animation Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1965). Sylvester's plan to catch Speedy Gonzales (who is serenading his sweetheart while paddling a boat) involves an inflatable raft -- not a good idea, Syl! That's the setup for this original 12 field animation layout drawing. The short, one of the final Looney Tunes to feature Sylvester, was directed by animation legend Friz Freleng (1906 - 1995), and released to theaters on 1/30/1965. Art is in graphite over red pencil, with an additional partial image in light brown color pencil. This is a "double-headed" full-figure image of Sylvester as he whips his head around, with a figure size of 5.25". You can find this scene at the 3:05 mark in online viewings. The drawing is matted with an opening of 13.5" x 9", and framed with Plexiglas for an overall size of 21.25" x 17". Frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Very Good with minor handling wear.
