    Description

    Canine Patrol Production Cel Courvoisier Setup with Walt Disney Signature (Walt Disney, 1945). Canine Patrol was "dedicated to the dogs of the US Coast Guard" in the opening credits. This short subject film was directed by Charles Nichols and released on 12/7/45. In this short, Pluto stars as a Coast Guard Beach Patrol dog. His job is to keep the beach clear. This is an outstanding Courvoisier production cel of Pluto in his Coast Guard Patrol hat and red collar along with the baby turtle he is trying to keep off the beach. The Pluto image is from the opening marching scene, at about the 0:48 time mark in the short. Great full-figure images of 3" and 6". The cels are on a Courvoisier airbrushed background. Courvoisier WDP stamp on mat. The mat is also hand-signed "To Bob, with our Best Wishes Walt Disney" on the original Courvoisier mat. Signature has faded, but is still visible. A Phil Sears COA is on back of frame. One of the few Pluto pieces we have ever seen with a Walt Disney signature. Artwork is in a frame of 23" x 19" with a mat opening of 9.5" x 8". Frame is sold as-is. Artwork is in Very Good condition.
