Description

Boat Builders Goofy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1938). Here is an animation drawing of Goofy while he toils at unboxing a "do-it-yourself" boat construction kit. Yet another directorial effort from the indefatigable Ben Sharpsteen, Boat Builders concerns the attempts of Mickey, Donald, and Goofy to assemble the kit. Advertised as being "so simple, a child could do it", they quickly turn the project into a disaster -- as only they can. When the boat, named the Queen Minnie, is christened by Minnie Mouse, the impact of the champagne bottle causes the rickety vessel to fall apart! "The Goof" stands 3.75" tall at the end of his backswing and this image can be seen at the 00:47 mark. He is drawn in graphite with red and green color pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The notation "43" is marked in the lower right corner, and the note "TR #1" can be seen on the board he's hammering. Paper shows some minor handling and very slight paper toning along left edge. In Very Good condition.
