DescriptionBen and Me Production Cel and Master Production Background (Walt Disney, 1953). This two-reel Disney short opens with a pair of tour groups simultaneously visiting a statue of Benjamin Franklin. The human tour group discusses Franklin's life and achievements, while the leader of a mouse tour group reveals the significant contributions of a mouse named Amos, to Franklin's career. In this lot is hand-inked hand-painted production cel of Ben with Amos in his hat. The trimmed image measures an impressive 9.5" x 7.5" and can be seen around the 15:13 mark in this 25-minute film. The cel is on an original hand-painted production background that appears just seconds after the cel at the 15:16 mark. This exceptional setup from an Academy Award nominated short written by Bill Peet would complement any animation art collection. It is in a 20" x 18" frame under Plexiglas with an 11.25" x 9.25" mat window. Condition for this nearly 70-year-old cel is Very Good.
