Bedknobs and Broomsticks Bear Production Cel on Key Master Production Background (Walt Disney, 1971). "No Peopling by Order of the King" reads the fishing Bear as he prepares to throw his catch back into the sea. Bedknobs and Broomsticks entered development in the early '60s when negotiations for the film rights to Mary Poppins were placed on hold. The film was repeatedly shelved due to the similarities with Mary Poppins until it was revived in 1969. This is a very rare hand-painted production cel of the fishing Bear measuring 7" x 8" in full-figure on a 16 field cel. A laser copy image of Mr. Brown has been applied to the cel to complete the image from the 1:06:50 mark. The cel is paired with its original hand-painted Key Master background from this imaginative Disney film that combined animation with live-action characters. This unique one-of-a-kind setup is in a 20" x 15" mat with an opening of 14" x 10". It shows minor handling and there is a crease in the upper right corner of the cel nowhere near the image which could be easily matted over. Condition is Very Good.
