    Description

Bambi Thumper Concept/Story Art by Marc Davis (Walt Disney, 1942). Thumper chases after Flower in this adorable storyboard/concept drawing by Disney Legends Inductee, Marc Davis (1913 - 2002), who created many of the animal designs for Bambi. In their book Bambi: The Story and the Film, Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston wrote that "Marc Davis brought life and feeling to his drawings, which became guides for all to follow." This wildly expressive drawing is rendered in charcoal and graphite on 12 field 5-peghole paper. Thumper, who measures 3" x 3.5", is jumping over a log, and Flower the Skunk's tail is in the lower foreground. The image is framed in a 6.5" x 8.5" blue pencil box. In the bottom right corner are Marc Davis' initials and the number seven. The piece is framed with a mat opening of 9" x 11", in a frame measuring 16.75" x 18.5". Some smudges and basic handling wear are evident; otherwise, condition is Very Good.
