Bambi Publicity Cel Setup with Key Master Background (Walt Disney, 1950s-60s). "Drip, drip, drop, little April shower, beating a tune as you fall all around. Drip, drip, drop, little April shower what can compare with your beautiful sound," sings the chorus in the pleasant early rain sequence of 1942's Bambi. Presented is a spectacular hand-painted publicity cel setup of an elaborate FIVE cels on a hand-painted Key Master background created by the Walt Disney Art Props Department. A simply jaw-dropping piece made from original archival drawings, this image was used for various promotional purposes, seen in Disney Magazine among other publications. Included in this lot are three examples of published materials in which this rare art was used. One of the greatest Bambi images we have seen, the 16 field, 3-peghole cels are taped to the background board and the piece overall shows minor handling and edge wear. The background is rendered beautifully in gouache, and the condition of this magnificent work of art is Very Good.
