    Description

Babes in the Woods Preliminary Production Background (Walt Disney, 1932). Babes in the Woods is a retelling of Hansel and Gretel: two children, lost in the woods, stumble upon a dwarf village. They're lured into a candy house by a Witch with an evil plan, but are saved by the dwarves and the Witch dies. The short was directed by Burt Gillett and released on 11/19/32. In this lot we have a magnificent early preliminary/concept background showing the inside of the Witch's house. The background was rendered in gouache on 12 field size background board. The artwork is in a frame of 21.5" x 20" under glass with a mat opening of 10" x 8.5". Frame sold as-is. The level of detail in this painting is astonishing! Fine condition.
