    Description

Art Riley Pinocchio "Candy House" Concept Illustration Animation Art (Walt Disney, 1940). A gorgeously detailed unused concept illustration, created for the "Pleasure Island" sequence of Walt Disney's second full-length animated film, Pinocchio. The original idea was to have Pinocchio and his friend Lampwick stay in a candy house when visiting Pleasure island; the completed film was done with the boys simply eating free candy and ice cream on the island, as the house as designed would have been too difficult to draw from different angles. The lush watercolor and graphite creation was the work of Art Riley, who spent thirty years at the studio, working on films like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella, as well as producing concept art for Disneyland. The piece is on bristol, with an image area of approximately 8" x 8.25". The 10" x 11" board has some tanning and edge staining, including some minor water damage that could be easily matted out, leaving the art in Very Good condition. It's a truly mouth-watering treat for any Disney fan!
