Description
Walt Disney Study Prints "Poison Safety" Complete Set of 9 with Storage Envelope and Original "The Home Emergency Center" Card Layout Drawing (Walt Disney, 1975). Mickey and Goofy teach students how to poison-proof their homes with this Walt Disney Educational Media complete 9-card "Poison Safety" set of Study Prints with storage envelope that is joined by the original hand-colored layout drawing for "The Home Emergency Center" card. In the 1960s, Disney's educational division began producing a series of double-sided study aids for use in elementary schools with this "Poison Safety" set being published in 1975. This lot features the original layout drawing for the ninth and final card titled "The Home Emergency Center" which has been rendered in ink, graphite, and pastel to an image area of 11.75" x 7.5" on a sheet of 16 field animation paper numbered 9 in the lower right with animator's notes at the top edge. Utilizing haunted house and detective theming, the nine double-sided published cards measure slightly larger at 18" x 13" overall featuring the title with an expansive image on the glossy frontside and related, highly detailed text on the reverse. The cards feature pre-punched corner holes for bulletin board mounting and are accompanied by the original green vinyl storage envelope which identifies the collection as Set No. 107. The original layout drawing exhibits typical handling and edge wear including small areas of smudging, faint corner creasing, and minor edge tears, overall Good condition; the card set and envelope exhibit minimal handling and edge wear with faint surface wear, overall Very Good condition.From the Ken O’Connor Archive.
