Walt Disney's Railroad Story Rare Deluxe Limited First Edition Hardcover Book #326/1000 Signed by Michael Broggie (Pentrex, 1997). "The Small-Scale Fascination That Led to a Full-Scale Kingdom." When Disney Legend Ward Kimball, one of Walt's Nine Old Men, invited his boss to a "steam-up" party at his local Live Steamers club in 1945 to be the guest engineer of their coal-burning 1881 Baldwin "Mogul", he wouldn't imagine that the friendly gesture would eventually culminate with the creation of Disneyland. "I'm sure that I never saw him smile any wider than that evening..." Ward recalls in the book's introduction, reminiscing on the party that started Walt Disney's love for trains, which eventually turned into the spark of the creation of Disneyland and the Disney Theme parks phenomenon. The captivating story of Walt's fascination with trains is told in the wondrous book by Michael Broggie entitled Walt's Disney Railroad Story, featured in this lot. The lot features the first edition of the hard-cover book housed in a clamshell case with an approximate overall size of 10.5" x 13.25" x 2.25". The book includes all the original paperwork, including a Carolwood Railroad honorary Vice President souvenir card.
