Walt Disney's Fantasia by Deems Taylor First Edition Hardcover Signed by Walt Disney and Deems Taylor (Walt Disney, 1940). The book in this lot is something undeniably magical that is as special for Disney fans today as it was for the woman who received it in 1940. In this lot is an outstanding first edition hardcover of Deems Taylor's 1940 novel Walt Disney's Fantasia that took readers on a journey through the making of the film, made all the more special from the fact that it features a large, bold signature from Walt Disney (1901 - 1966) and the book's author Deems Taylor (1885 - 1966) next to the inside cover. Disney's signature is enormous, too, and takes up most of the width of the 9.25'' page! There are also two dedications to the book's lucky recipient Dorothy Hartwell wishing her the best on Christmas of 1940 and congratulating her on being "the only girl in the entire, whole wide world who owns such a singularly autographed selection". Fans and collectors, it's your time now! The book is full of beautifully printed illustrations with 157 pages for you to explore and enjoy so you can relive your favorite moments in the film and maybe even discover a new piece of magic. The spine has been separated from the book's pages and this will need professional restoration, but otherwise this treasured book is in Good condition with light toning, some rust marks/debris, and some edge and handling wear.Auction Info
