Uncle Scrooge McDuck: His Life and Times Hardcover Sold-Out Limited Edition Book with Matching Lithograph Signed by Carl Barks #2500/5000 (Celestial Arts, 1981). This lavish leather-bound, gold embossed edition reprinting selected Uncle Scrooge stories that were written and drawn by Carl Barks is a must for any serious fan of Uncle Scrooge McDuck! The book was produced to commemorate Barks' 80th birthday, and Barks even did a new story for the book, "Go Slowly, Hands of Time." Published by movie producer Gary Kurtz (American Graffiti, Star Wars, and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back) and it has a forward written by George Lucas. Included is its matching, numbered, limited edition, signed lithographic print of "Wanderers of the Wonderlands" with edition number 2500/5000. Wow! The print has an image area of 8" x 10" and is signed by Barks in the bottom right corner. The book also includes two pre-publication brochures advertising the volume, one with a coupon to clip and mail with the-then exorbitant price of $159.95. The book is in Very Good to Fine condition with light handling wear, while the lithograph print is in Fine condition with very light handling.Auction Info
