The Restless Sea Studio-Printed Storyboard Presentation Book (Walt Disney, 1964). Produced as the final and only Disney film in The Bell System Science Series of television specials, The Restless Sea is presented as a comb bound presentation book featuring photographic prints of the feature's storyboards from the personal archive of long-time layout artist and Disney director Ken O'Connor (1908 - 1998). This educational science series consisted of 9 specials that aired in color from 1956 to 1964, with the first four produced by Frank Capra and the next four by Warner Bros. Pictures with Disney helming the final entry. The Restless Sea originally debuted on January 24, 1964 using both live-action and animation to depict the beginnings of sea and primal life, the sea's chemical composition, continental drift, as well as the effect of gravitational pull on tides and currents, and even featured Sterling Holloway voicing the charming water droplet character seen prevalently in these storyboard prints. Measuring approximately 11.25" x 14" including the comb binding along the top edge, this presentation book includes a title page dated March 5, 1962 followed by 19 numbered pages on heavy photographic paper that detail the entire film in its four acts enclosed between front and back covers of heavyweight board. With typical handling and edge wear including age-related toning of the covers and title page, minor corner wear, minor breakage to the comb binding, and a faint waviness to the photographic paper, overall this rare testament to one of Disney's lesser known television specials is in Good condition.
