The Art of Pocahontas Author and Crew Signed Hardcover Book (Hyperion, 1996). This superb out-of-print art book is a detailed overview of the making of Walt Disney Feature Animation's Pocahontas (1995). It explores the breadth and depth of Feature Animation's filmmaking process, covering pre-production, story, character development and animation, layout and background, effects, color and more. Richly illustrated with original art, behind-the-scenes photographs, and scenes from the film, the book displays over 400 full-color and black-and-white illustrations covering every aspect of production, plus four fold-out pages. This copy is signed by thirteen of the Disney Studios' artists who produced the film: Mike Gabriel, director; Eric Goldberg, director; Glen Keane, supervising animator of Pocahontas, story; John Pomeroy, supervising animator, story; Nik Ranieri, supervising animator of Meeko; Chris Buck, supervising animator of Percy, Grandmother Willow and Wiggins, story; Duncan Marjoribanks, supervising animator of Governor Ratcliffe, story; Dave Pruiksma, supervising animator of Flit and the forest animal; Rasoul Azadani, layout supervisor; Michael Giaimo, art director; Gregory Manwaring, animator of Powhatan; Christy Maltese, background supervisor; and Kent Melton, sculptor. This first-edition hardcover art book is clothbound in dustjacket, 200 pages, measuring approximately 10.5" x 13.5". A Howard Lowery Certificate of Authenticity is included, verifying the signatures.
