Description

Dispatch From Disney with "Pin-Ups for Service Men" Insert Print (Walt Disney, 1943). "Here is news of our effort to back you up, along with glimpses of familiar faces and happenings." This lot offers an outstandingly rare copy of the coveted 1943 Digest publication Dispatch from Disney, accompanied by the famous fold-out poster "Pin-Ups for Servicemen." Featuring on its cover the memorable image of Donald Duck and Der Fuehrer's Face, originally done by the famed T. Hee, this 36-page publication was sent to all studio employees enlisted in the service, opening with a message from Walt Disney and continuing with various articles about various productions from Walt Disney Studios like Saludos Amigos and Victory Through Air Power. Although intended to be the medium through which employees could send news of their contributions to the war effort, only this 5.5" x 8" volume was issued by Walt Disney Studios. The included 10.5" x 15.5" "Pin-Ups for Servicemen" showcases the well-known artwork by Fred Moore and Bill Justice. Presenting normal age-related toning, and mild handling and edge wear, the lot is in Very Good condition.
